Can you be from Canceri?

I would assume that we have to follow normal campaign character rules (so no Canceri).

Is there any wiggle room in that "follow normal campaign rules" statement? One of the two character concepts is a Former Gladiator. I started a thread in the rules thread about how Gladiators don't get to use their armor they receive. The Great and Powerful Lopez stated that in a home game he would rule that a Martial Archetype Former Gladiator could either choose the ALL Armor from the Starting Nation or Gladiatorial Armor but not both. He also stated that the Campaign staff would have to make a final decision.

Since it is the Great Lopez and the contest is not official Legends of Arcanis Campaign can we go with his suggested ruling? :) Please, pretty, please. :D :?

I'm going to go with no, the characters need to stay campaign legal, one of the side benefits of the contest is to generate characters other people can play in the campaign... right?

I thought this was already covered, so I apologize if I just missed it. Are these characters starting with typical "new character" gear? Or are we applying the rules from the "tier 1.5 Character" cert?

Scott

Edit: Never mind. I found it right in the first post. Starting gear plus 6 Gold.

Part Three of the Contest: The Spectacle
Feb 1 - March 31

Animal companions and mounts will be treated as equipment, and will not always be available or feasible to use.

This brings up some questions for a val'Delenov character I may be creating.

1. What does it mean for a Loyal Companion to be considered equipment?
2. It makes sense that animals and especially mounts won't be available for every part of the contest. However will you give us a hint at us to how often we might use a non-mount loyal companion. Rarely, Sometimes, Often?
3. On a scale to 1-10 the likelihood that we will at least be able to use them in the final conflict.

The character is going to have a companion. I'm ask this because I am trying to determine how much effort to put into the companion.

some times equipment wont be allowed... because reasons.

the spectacle is going to be random, sometimes a companion will be allowed but will be completely useless, sometimes it wont be allowed

allowed in the final fights 100%
