Paths, Backgrounds, and Archetypes don't need prerequisites. If you have a Charisma of 1 and become a Sword Saint, you can legit cast. You will only have a sucky die, but it is mechanically possible and I don't see an issue with it in the rulesset.

My read of that quote seemed to be focusing on the Charisma stat and limiting the talent to having a specific charisma. I don't see what that is necessary. If that was not what was being asked, I apologize.

Oh, he was wanting rudimentary prayers to be available to the casters that dont quality for DSC because of charisma.

and the only reason im on board with that is it kinda makes sense from a 3,5 holy champion kinda casting ideal

I'm honestly okay with that. If you build a Charisma 5 Templar with the intention of taking spells, you've made a bad choice.

John

I'm ok with that as well

Works (goes and removes Rudimentary Prayers from future talent list as PC already has DSC I).

Were you taking a Path that gives this? It's a limited talent.

Sword Saint of course; had a T2 gap in my paths due to pre-reqs for other things.

You'd still get another Learn Spell :)

I'll just take Learn Spell in the Talent slot. I was only taking it for the casting skill rank.
