Make sure that's called out in the errata in the section on bows, in the general requirements or both. This is going to be counter-intuitive for a lot of folks especially given that the solution is in a supplement and there for balance and consistency.

BTW.. I'm not 100% sold on the idea to make them all work the same...

for now they do, until I have a final ruling in the FAQ.. I have an idea on how I may handle it, but that's still up in the air.

here is line of thinking...

the advantage of having a two-handed melee weapon ready is free strikes.. that's why there is a speed cost..

Range weapons lack that advantage, you can not take a free strike with a bow...

what I may do is state you can not "reload" while casting a spell.. so it would still require the 2 ticks needed to reload the bow after casting... nice way to play strain and recovery

the FAQ/Errata additions drop today, I'll add this as a FAQ question....

Rapid shot (MT) completely negates that "cannot cast spells while reloading" issue, so I do not consider there to be ANY issues with bows if a Hero has taken this almost essential technique.

That was my basic idea when I asked the question.

So I'm a little confused. I thought the reason for no casting while wielding a two handed weapons, melee or ranged, was because it was two handed.

Are we moving towards a ruling of you only need "Quick Hands" with a bow if the weapon is currently loaded?

Not necessarily. You can reload before are after the attack with Rapid Shot. If I load after the attack then one could assume both my hands are full when my next action comes around.

What I am saying is that it says very clearly in the rules that a Bow is a two-handed weapon. It says very clearly in the rules that you cannot cast spells while wielding a two-handed weapon. It says very clearly in the talent Quick Hands how you would normally cast spells with a two-handed weapon, and how the talent affects that. I do not care about reloading or not, according to the rules in both letter and spirit, you cannot cast while wielding a bow unless you follow the rules as outlined in the talent Quick Hands.

Seems a complicated way to say "All 2 handed weapons require Quick Hands." It should have nothing to do with Free Strikes, because you still need Quick Hands to cast with a 2 handed weapon even if you aren't threatening anyone with a Free Strike.

Bow are already good weapons (range, 0 reload with a talent, at range, awesome tricks). I'm not sure why there's a need to make them special 2 handed weapons? This would impact crossbows, etc. as well.
