Fate doesn't belong in the arena, however, the attitude of the crowd is going to have a significant impact on the fights, Everybody is going to have a "reputation" score and all of the rules are going to be at the bottom of this post.
Remember, Nothing excites the crowd like blood.
Factors for Starting reputation Race : Val +0 Human,Undir,Ssressen,Dwarf +1 Dark Kin,Gnome,Elorri -1
Nation: Pirate Isles,Hinterland +1 Coryani Empire,Milandir,Almeric,Dwarf +0
Background Undisciplined Psion,Awakened Psion,Exile/Expat +0 Former Canton,Former Gladiator,Mercenary +1 Sanctorum mage, Noble Born -1
Flaws Dubious Reputation,Code of Honor,Chilling Presence,Horribly Scarred -1 Branded,Bloodthirsty +1 Prejudiced (authority Figures),Phobia (storms) +0
Negative reputation to the Crowd Rolling double 1's (Critical Miss) Getting caught cheating (in a match) Getting wounded Delaying a match (running away, etc) Trying too hard to be showy
Positive reputation to the Crowd Critical hit Successful Feint Successful Demoralize opponent (Intimidate) Acrobatic/Athletic Trick Trip/ Disarm Pin an enemy In a grapple Winning a match Entering dramatically(ask about this)
At the beginning of every match, both gladiators are going to roll a D6-2( The Fickleness of the Crowds) and add their Current Reputation score. During the course of the spectacles, things like critical hits and special maneuvers (typical ones outlined above) can influence the Current Reputation Score. Reputation Scores will carry over from match to match.
Things that Reputation can be Spent On: 1 point can be spent for +2 to a roll 3 points can be spent for a re-roll 5 points can be spent to give an opponent -2 to all action skill rolls for 12 ticks
