Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that we're working on a new Rotted Capes product for next year, tentatively entitled, the Survivor's Guide, Vol. I.

The Survivor's Guide is a rules supplement featuring new sources, such as Cosmic, Mystic and Supernatural, new archetypes, like Alien, Android/Synthoid, Anthromorph and Demigod, new disadvantages, new skills and of course, lots of new powers.

We'd also like to know what else you'd like to see in the book?

An enclave sample? NPCs for your heroes to care for and look after? New adventure hooks?

We are also considering adding the following:

New power stunts / maneuvers

Sample heroes or villains for each of the new archetypes

A selection of sample gadgets

Sample dependent NPCs and possibilities for what occurs when one dies

Sample groups that hunt heroes – cannibal bikers, religious fanatics, etc.

Advice on creation of spells that go beyond copying powers

Super items that can be scrounged

Some lore into the Rotted Capes universe, such as what role does magic play in it (as in: is it prominent, obscure, etc, etc).

Storyline - What's has progressed since Z-day? What have the undead movers 'n' shakers done? How has it impacted Paradigm City (if it can be known at all)? What impact has this event taken on religion and faith?

New Perks/Flaws - such as an Always On perk to represent a power that is always active (such as have someone with always being large and the pros and cons of such size).

More Personality Flaws

This is huge news for my group and I! We CANNOT wait. I'll ask the Fandible crew what they'd like to see in the survivor guide!

SO! FRICKING! EXCITED!

More items. Particularly armors. It seems like you have virtually no defenses unless you take the armor power, and that just doesn't fit many characters.

Also maybe some rules or at least guides for dealing with tings like a super strong character wielding a sedan 1 handed vs 2 handed, any differences in damage or minimum strength etc...
I know one of the players from the Fandible site wants a way to shoot zombies in the head execution style.

Maybe I missed it but I would like a little information on different type of effects guns do. Mostly, shotguns. What does 'splashing' on a shotgun look like? Is it an aoe? And if so, does the damage diminish the further it gets from the center of the shot?

That sort of thing.

remember the armor "power" does not need to be a suit of iron man armor.

If you were building someone like a Nightwing like character you would get the armor power (removable item)

take a look at Pretty Persuasion in the back of the book.. she has "She also owns a unique body suit which grants her Armor 4 and Wall Crawling 4 both sharing the Linked and Removable
Items (usable by anyone) power modifications."

it does not have to be something that unique, it could even be a set of tactical armor augmented with chain armor they put together on their own.

when you are facing biting zombies.. body armor becomes a necessity

the firearms system was kept simple on purpose....the way I designed shotguns I envisioned 00 buck.

If you want to add spread to shotguns this is the way I would do it

- Out to 1 area it would act as a slug, one target
- beyond that I would let it hit two adjacent targets, suffering significant damage fall off.. (maybe two die penalties) with additional penalties beyond that.
