Hey everyone,
For those of you who don't follow the blog,
A Historian Goes to the Movies, this might pique your interest. The blogger is currently doing
a big breakdown of the Salem tv series (gearing up for season 2: the witch war): who's real, who isn't, what's historically accurate, and what's pure Hollywood bunk. So far he's two entries in and it's terribly fascination.
Personally, I find the series a bit mediocre (what can I say? I'm a genre snob.), but it has some great visual grist for any Witch Hunter game. So for that, at least, it's worth watching on occasion. But this look at the series through a historical lense has just as much pure, meaty inspiration. Cotton Mather as a Lightbringer (a prodigy who graduated Harvard at 15 and became a reverend but was always interested in science, writing treatises on mathmatics and medicine? Holy crap yes please!)
Anyway, check it out! Well worth your time!
