Hi,

I recently tried out Arcanis at Gen Con and had a blast playing, and I'd be interested in gathering a few other newer players to play through the earlier modules if possible. Would anyone be interested in something like that?

If you play online there are quite a few online games being run of the earlier mods.

Monk, I would be willing to bet you can find exactly what you are looking for.

I would also put forth if you are looking for local groups, I bet we can help you find one or make one.

Hi MonkofLords,

Glad you had a blast and welcome to Arcanis! I've been running a group through earlier mods. A few of those we didn't have enough players to actually get to run. One point of clarification, when you're talking about the earlier mods, do you have a character that started at 1.1 or 1.5? The original Crusade arc isn't available to characters with the 1.5 cert.

We've still got a number of mods to run including most of the available soft points for 1.5 characters.

To see what's currently scheduled look through the Online Play threads. I need to get the calendar updated. Sorry for letting that slide. At a quick glance, this is what I see:

Tonight (8/19) - A1SP08 - Bramble Labyrinth. This mod is only open to characters that started at 1.1. It is however part 2 of 2.

Tuesday 8/26 - A1SP09 - Not My Daughter. This mod is only open to characters that started at 1.1.

Wednesday 8/27 - A2SP05 - Gleams of Fire. This mod is open to all characters.

Tuesday 9/2 - A1SP10 - Dark Face of War. This mod is only open to characters that started at 1.1.

There will be additional mods scheduled, but I need to check our schedule and then the others who've been playing on Tuesdays to see what will work for the fall and with what frequency. Most likely it'll be a Tuesday or Thursday night.

Even if none of these work for your schedule, post the mods that you're interested in and what times work best. There are a number of people who have run online games here. Weekends are better for many of them. Time zones also have an impact, so if you're in the US and out west for example it's helpful to mention that as well.

With a sweep of his hat,

Paul

Josh is right. This is probably the best option. Online play as John and I've mentioned can be an option as well.

Given I can barely find local groups for more common games, finding a local group for Arcanis seems unlikely...

My character that I built is Tier 1.1 at the moment. I'm not familiar with any of the mods really, but I would love to start at the beginning if at all possible.

Arcanis has 2 types of mods - hard points and soft points. It's important if at all possible to play the hard points in order. The soft points can in general be played in any order. Soft Points in A2 (for story arc 2) assume that the Crusade is over. All that means is that they may reference events from the Crusade so be aware if you want to avoid spoilers.

The 2 soft points running on Tuesday the 26th and Sept. 2nd would work if 7:30 - 8 PM EST works for you as a start time.

Another idea is there is a thread in this forum that lists players and mods they need. Looking through that would give you an idea of who to talk to about getting a set of mods played.

Yet another option is to post either a general call for players or pick a day/time and see who's interested.

With a sweep of his hat,

Paul

I'm in Phoenix, AZ, on the Northeastern side. Our local time is currently PST, though we will be CST soon, given we don't have Daylight Savings time. I think 7:30 EST for me currently is 5:30 PM, which won't always be simple to be get to, as that's right after work. 6 PM is a bit better.

Cody Bergman is 2 hours behind in Canada and runs online games. Akira and his wife I think are both 2 hours behind, so it may be possible to get a group that runs at a more convenient time for you.

If you can do 8 PM EST you're welcome to join us. I can't start at 9 though on a weekday as morning comes way too early.

If you're interested in one of the mods, just post to the appropriate topic thread.

Again, welcome!

With a sweep of his hat,

Paul
