Already played this with Talendos (and you guys). Ar'Kelos is not eligible to replay this adventure.

I'd love to play this, but the timing is problematic...I have to work at midnight, and sometimes my home group meets on Tuesdays. GM works retail, so no way to know this far out.

Eddie: Noted, thanks.

Peter I can make a point of wrapping by 11:30 with a 7:30 sharp start time, but I can't do much more than that. If you're interested, let me know and I'll add you to the player list.

Paul

I'd really appreciate that. I am definitely interested. Could you message me with details about programs and interfaces used and such?

I'll post it here in case others are interested. The two programs we use are Google Hangouts and Roll20. They work as an integrated whole if you're using the Chrome browser. I'll need an email or Google+ account to use to send out the invite.

My Roll20 Campaign link is:

https://app.roll20.net/join/352422/WX2tag

The help section for players on Roll20 can be very useful and worth taking at least a quick look at in advance. https://wiki.roll20.net/Getting_Started_Players

The overall help is also good and contains a lot more information on the overall site and capabilities. https://wiki.roll20.net/Main_Page

For Arcanis, in general you'll use the command /roll 2d10 + d<#>! + <bonus> where <#> is replaced by the die type and <bonus> is replaced by your bonus. So if you're making a mettle check and you've got a d8 for a stat and +3 bonus, it would be /roll 2d10 + d8! + 3. The exclamation point indicates that the die can explode.

It's also possible to condense the math into a single result # where you see the dice rolled if you hover over it. you use square brackets and don't use the /roll command as the brackets take care of it for you. I'm including a few examples of macros I've got set up for reference.

FT2WF+WPT+TE
TWF - Primary (WPT & TE)
Faith's Temper Attack [[2d10+d8!+7]]
Faith's Temper Damage[[d6+d10!+2]]

The first line is the macros name. It does not allow spaces. It's my shorthand for Attack with Faith's Temper(my short sword), Two-Weapon-Fighting with the bonuses for wolf pack tactics and tactical edge added.
The 2nd line "TWF - Primary (WPT & TE)" displays when I run the macro letting me know I've run the right one.
The Attack and Damage are broken out over 2 lines as I believe you're only supposed to have 1 command per line. The labels such as "Faith's Temper Attack" doesn't count.

Init
Initiatve [[{4d10}kl1]]
The structure of this is a bit different because with initiative you're only looking to keep the lowest die. Putting the dice in swiggly brackets and then adding kl1 at the end keeps just the lowest die. kl1 is shorthand for Keep Lowest 1

Met
Mettle [[2d10+d8!+3]]
This is a standard skill check. If you have a number of skills that all operate off the same die type and bonus, you can probably simplify them down to a single one if you want.

With the link to the campaign you can now go in and set up macros in advance.

With a sweep of his hat,

Paul

The most important part is audio. Some of the people we play with don't use the video portion.

As for whether you can do it on a tablet, I'm not sure. I haven't tried it. It's probably something you can look up on the web though.

I'm not positive but I'm guessing Roll20 uses Flash and, if so, will not work on an iPad (not sure about Android). If it uses HTML5 video or something else like that, it should in theory work on a tablet.

Personally, I don't use a webcam and just use the audio portion.

Edit: Just found info on wiki.roll20.net:
  • iPad - must be paid member (Mentor or Supporter) - requires iOS 5.1+ (iOS 6+ better), iPad 2+
  • Android - must be paid member (Mentor or Supporter) - Chrome for Android, tested on Nexus 7 (equivalent or better will work in theory)

Steve, thanks for the details on using a tablet. I agree, the video is a nice to have. The audio is critical.
