It ended up being played with a completely different system (a German RPG called "Midgard", not to be confused with the English games of the same name). The adventure itself went very well - we played it at a Con and had lots of fun with it.

Stemming up old news...

I myself ran Carnival of Swords with 5e with one of my regular online groups.
They loved it! and with a bit of maneuvering and home brewing, it worked out fairly easily.
