Do the legions of Arcanis have assigned numbers akin to the numbering of Roman Legions? Or do they abbreviate by first letter of the name ect? LLT for Legio Lex Talonois is the only shorthand I know. |

So far as I know the Coryani Legions are not numbered. I read in some novel set in that time period that the Roman Legions started off each having their own animal totem/standard but that they outgrew the number of "fierce creatures" and so eventually standardized with eagles for all and numbers at some time in the late Republic Phase. Since it was fiction I'd take it with a grain of salt, still seems like it could be true. Regardless, Coryan, with each Legion dedicated to a different god obviously follows a different naming scheme. So far as I know the LLT was started by the players of said legion. Here and now we love our TLAs. OMG. LOL. Not sure if anyone in Coryan does this or not. Kinda of interesting that the Legion of the Watchful Hunter isn't isn't known as the LWH. Just not as catchy? |

Some Legions are numbered. If you read the Hinterlands section of the Codex Arcanis it tells of Legion 4, Legion 13, and Legion 9 (later the Legion of the Shining Pillar) using the name the "Northlander Legions". I assume that all Legions do, in fact, have a number associated with them, and that they often earn their 'true name' either through combat, a legion standard, etc. |

The Legion of the Watchful Hunter is XXII, though is not First Imperium so they're not all in order. With a sweep of his hat, Paul |

LLT is what we referred to ourselves "Out of Character"...or sometimes "the 6th" as that is the legion company we decided we would all be a part of. In character, we did not use any modern abbreviations. |

Do the Legions of Coryan have multiple "Standards" like the Romans did. Of course one is unique to the Legion, but also is there a image of the Emperor, or Legionary Standard to the Patron god(s) ect? or squad level or other subunit standards ect. |

They would have to. If you have ever read 'period' fiction or witnessed people trying to march in huge formations, they need to have standards so individual soldiers know which way they (and their unit) is going. As such, I'd expect 1 standard/century at least, though it would be little more than a Coryani Falcon/Eagle on top of a large pole (see ARPG pg4) |
