Hello Dean,

Thanks for your suggestion, but I'm spreading myself thin already. :-)

Understand completely. Thats why I though that the other members of the writing team could do the actual mod with a "This is what you need to include / reveal" from you

That way those that forked out the big bucks get "Super Unique Henry Mod" when others can get "Unique Henry Influenced Mod" :)

As said a suggestion, but one that would require a bit of work I know.

Will keep thinking

Dean

henry,

Another idea for an add on.

Since Psionics can't use wands, how about a $10 addon for a Pscionic crystal that functions as a wand.

From memory I think Thurma (What ever the spelling is - divine magic anyway) also are unable to enhance their casting with a wand, so you could add in a "Minor Relic" that will also function the same way.

(Of Course I could be wrong as I don't have rule book with me.)

Cheers

Divine get Holy symbols which function as wands. At least one was found at Origins.

Psions get glass steel. Which will at some point be an in game reward. Not fit for the kickstater.

Hello Todd,

Would game integrity be that injured by expanding those numbers to say, 6 of each?

Perhaps not game integrity, but my own would be.

Each of those Pleadge Levels are priced based off of what the item is and its rarity. If I were to say, create another pledge level for 4 more agamassi to be purchased, I've decreased their value and probably made the original two patrons less than happy that they're playing something (relatively) more common.

I don't have an issue adding special tables, because each of those tables is getting a DIFFERENT adventure based upon the group and their interests, so that uniqueness remains.

I have a few more pledge levels coming up next week, but I cannot and will not, in good conscious, dilute the rarity of some rewards and break my bond with those patrons who have so generously supported the game.

While this probably makes me a very bad capitalist, as I would love to have your freinds pledge those $200 each, I'd rather lose out on that than any trust I may have fostered throughout the years I've been doing this.

It's my hope that they can find something else that might interest them to support the campaign/game.

I hope you and others understand my position in this matter.

I completely understand, don't get me wrong. Unique character creation certs will ALWAYS be in high demand. It's just the way Kickstarter works; new potential patrons don't have the same opportunities for the unique pledge level rewards that beginning backers get.

I understand as well. I'm just highly disappointed I missed out on the Agamassi (particularly since I went to check as soon as I knew the KS was up (about 2-3 hours after it went live)).

Another option which would be more work on your part would be to check with the existing pledgers at the special levels (since there are so few) and ask if they have any issues with opening up more. If none do, then you could open up more. If even one does, then it stays very very limited.

I understand from other comments that the extremely limited number is similar to how PCI did the previous Kickstarter but I've never seen any KS with so few of any pledge level that low priced so I wasn't really surprised (just disappointed) when they were all sold out within hours.

This is merely a suggestion, not a suggested course of action, but there could be a way around that without compromising your integrity, Henry.

A possible 'solution' would be to offer a new pledge level that mirrors an existing limited level, but at a higher price. True the reward is less limited, but the 'early adopters' get their reward at a discount.

One formula might be: (new cost) = (original cost) * ( 1 + ([additional rewards] * 0.10))
That is, a 10% increase in price for each reward in the new pledge level.

Take the Agamassi reward level:
The cost per character was $250 for one of the 2 rewards. If you were to increase the total number available by 4, increase the cost for the new tier by 40% - so $350 for one of the 4 new rewards.

The $100 relative savings for early adopters might be enough to assuage their reward not being as limited as it once was.

I collect sports memorabilia. One of the prized/favorite pieces in my collection is an autographed football jersey by the entire 1972 Miami Dolphins team, the only undefeated team in NFL history. Only a limited amount of these autographed jerseies were every produced. I know the exact quantity. I know the dealer is very reputable in the industry. If this dealer at a later date had more jersies signed, it would not only ruin the value of the jersies out there but also the 'unique' aspect about them...let alone the reputation of the dealer in the industry would be forever tarnished.

I am not comparing sports memorabilia to a pledge level per say, but the principle is very much similar.

I disagree. I see Kickstarters all the time that add more of a limited pledge level at a slightly higher price (often $5 more if <$100 or $10-25 if $100<x<$1000) and I have yet to ever see anyone complain (though I don't read every single comment on updates on KS). And this is exactly the situation where it's most common to add more - the first batch sold out so fast that very few people that were interested were able to get them (even if they knew about them).

I think with the severely limited numbers on the Arcanis Kickstarter, it's more likely to leave people with bad feelings over being unable to get any limited pledge levels that interest them.

I guess we'll see what's in the next batch of pledges added...
