Post subject:  Intro Modules =/= Hard Points

More rules questions that came up in today's session!

Do the intro modules count as "hard points" for the purposes of the Living Campaign document?

I am purely asking this because the Ranger herbal bundle addition in the Living Campaign rules that allow you select a Healing Potion or an Alchemical item for every Hard Point you play in.

Should my ranger players that just finished all the Intro Modules get 8 potions or alchemical items to pick from (or really rather 6-7 since you start getting Herbal Bundles at level 2.)

No they are considered Soft Points.

Arcanis has used various names for various types of modules.
Some of the types have fallen away.

Typically modules fall under two categories
Hard Point and Soft Point
Hard Point can be seen as core story module, that should be played in numerical order.
Soft Points are side stories, that can be played in any order, in between the Hard Points.
There is a third one called Anchor Point. They have story related to the Hard Points, but you can play them in numerical order anywhere between Hard Points.

Within those two categories you come to the types of modules.
Standard - 4 hours combination of role playing and battles
Intro - 4 hours, combination of role playing and battle, for beginners.
Story - 4 hours all or mainly role playing (1 or 0 battles)
LARP - role playing in person
Battle Interactive/Grind - 8 hours, battle focused
Crawl/Delve - 4 hours extreme battles
Mini module - 2 hours, sometimes for a party sometimes for 1 player

The 8 Intro modules released for 5E were to to give the players a world tour, introduce the new mechanics, and level them up. The first Hard Point is Into the Blessed Lands, as that module begins the story that will dominate the rest of the campaign. The Intro modules were side stories. If you play the adventures in the Codex of Adventures Volume 1 they are also Soft Points.
