I was wondering about starting languages and literacy.
In the Arcanis 5E system it seems that you get languages (and literacy) from just a few things - Race (plus INT modifier) Background Skill INT (Literacy) Feat Linguist
There might be a few other places, but I think that's mostly it.
Now, the Campaign Guide says - "As well as fleshing out your character's history, your choice of nationality will affect what languages your character knows and your starting skill proficiencies." The line above mentions languages, but I don't think that you get languages from Nationality unless your race or background says that you get a national language. Of course they might be good choices for and languages from your INT modifier.
Anyway, I really just wanted to clarify that no languages are specifically gained from nationality.
