| Post subject: | Ibon Cert Questions |
Firstly, Id just like to say a big thankyou to Henry and the team. I just received my special Ibon race cert!.. which I was looking forward to, as part of the kickstarter. I do have several questions however: 1) Ibon arcane casting: I am assuming it is Eldritch choices. Am I correct? 2) I had an idea for an Ibon Blood Guard. With the race restriction on no class at first level that provides divine or primal spell casting would this be a valid choice? (Holy Champions do not get access to spells until level Two) Thanks |

Hi Mathew, I’m no one official and I don’t know what the ibon cert days, so take this with several grains of salt: but I don’t think joining the Blood Guard is an appropriate choice for an Ibon character, especially at creation. The Blood Guard is made up exclusively of the Templars of the Far Western city of Gergos and the Bastard children of the Blood Guard born in the First City. Since the Far West is not currently a valid place to start from any Blood Guard PCs would have to be natives of the First City. I don’t see how an Ibon would be a bastard child of one of the Blood Guards who , TMK, are all some flavor of “human.” Also, given the ibon’s traditional take on gods, I don’t think they would be HCs at creation even if Holy Champions are technically not spell casters at that point. Sorry! Probably not the opinions you were looking for. |

Correct, you will notice elder casters have a racial ability allowing them to be elder casters.. much like how Val have a racial ability to be psions. sutekh wrote: 2) I had an idea for an Ibon Blood Guard. No because the class has the feature.. you may get it later, but its still a class feature. you would need to start as a fighter or something then "find your faith" later in life. |
