So, can I take a Sorcery Rune as a Warlock and have cast Animate Dead into the rune from a scroll. Then use the my Warlock spell slots to fuel the Sorcery Rune to allow me to cast Animate Dead as a Warlock, even though Animate Dead is not on the Warlock spell list?

The problem I am trying to overcome is how best to recreate a raised Oozejumper in 5e. Before his untimely death at the hands of mighty Yarris, he was a primal caster with Necromancy as his primary casting ability. I can best get that "feel" from Warlock. But Warlock does not have animate dead on its spell list. Alternatively I could go Wizard, and get Animate Dead that way. But then I lose some of the Creepy Shamanistic "Feel".

I am also open to ideas to make a Wizard "Feel" more Shamanistic in outlook.

Doing some quick research, it appears that Warlock alone isn't going to work.

Using a Spell Scroll, the spell still needs to appear on your class list (DMG pg200 + updated SRD), so you will need to multi-class into at least 1 level of Wizard (and then make an INT check at DC13 to use the scroll).

After that, the Sorcery Rune (Rare) works as written and the concept will work.

Or, considering that the 5e book for Arcanis has yet to be written, you could try to pull together a suggestion for a specific patron for a warlock/shaman that provides necromancy and feels true to the type of things shamans do in Arcanis, then stat out suggested/potential advancement powers and show how it works then submit it to Paradigm Concepts for their review.

That's still an option isn't it?

Who says _I_ have to case the Animate Dead spell into the rune?

The rules for the rune do.

Gota ya. Sorcery Rune will not work. But what about a spell rune? Can I expend a spell slot and recharge the spell rune even though the spell contained within it isn't on my spell list?

The sorcery rune won't work for what you want to do but a spell rune will. You can expend one of your precious warlock spell slots to recharge the spell rune as explained in the rune's effects.
