Post subject:  Legal Classes

Hi everyone

A bunch of us ex D20 LA players have decided to give the 5e version a go and have stumbled a bit on character creation, namely what classes are legal, campaign setting vs, phb, vs srd?

Is the campaign setting the only legal source of the 3? If The others are legal is it everything, and what happens when something appears in both, i.e. Rogue and Fighter, which version should I use, or are both legal?

Many thanks

Gray

Welcome back to the campaign.

The sources legal for the Campaign include the SRD and the Arcanis Campaign Setting book.

Classes as per the campaign guide.

For example, Bard the class does not exist in Arcanis.

If you are a new player you can use the free Arcanis 5e Primer to make and advance characters untill you reach 4th level

Fighter (Champion), Rogue (Thief) and Barbarian/Fury (Beserker) are the legal options from the SRD. Everything else comes out of the Campaign Guide.

Welcome backs!

Monks, as written in 5E, do not really fit within the setting of Arcanis, so they were not included. There are areas in the world which would utilize combat styles like a Monk, but most or all are beyond the scope of the campaign at present.

There are (more or less) monk equivalents through the Fighter (Pugilist) and the Painbearer (the “Paladin” of Anshar)
