Post subject:  5E Shaman Spellcasting

Hello Folks,

I am trying to familiarize myself with the 5E rules, apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere.

Each Spiritual Patron has a list of Additional Spells associated with them, but I am a little unclear as to how this works. For Jeggal Sag and the Nurturer, the book says "These spells are added to your spells known as you advance in level". The Prince of Night, Trickster and Warrior instead read "These spells are added to your list of possible spells known as you advance in level". Is this a typo, or does the way the patrons grant spells actually differ?

Second question, am I correct in understanding that Shamans are limited in the spells they can cast by their spell slots? As in, even at level 20, they are only casting four (non-cantrip) spells per day?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure on the differing wording on the additional spell lists, but the spells slots recover on a short or long rest. So with an hour break in the action a Shaman can recover their spell slots. So in a day with say 2 short rests the shaman would cast up to 12 noncantrip spells.

That is helpful, thank you.

Still hoping for an official clarification on the spells granted question.

Sorry for taking longer to respond regarding this question.

All Patrons that grant Additional Spells associated with them grant them in the same way. They are additional spells added to you known spells (besides the ones you already picked) for your level. It happens automatically when your character reaches said level. Just don't piss off your patron before you find yourself unable to cast anything ;)

Sadly, as I just came to realize myself, Shamans are exactly like Warlocks regarding the number of spell slots they have to use per day (and how they recover spell slots works in the same manner, as Corvas mentioned above).
