As author of the Mod in questions, I too was under the impression that the provinces used different naming standards, thus Rodriguez.

Thanks for the clarification Henry. I assume the Annonicans using Greek names etc are also no longer correct.

The examples in that chart must be very wrong. The modern Spanish names like Rodriguez and Fernandez / Hernandez did not come into vogue until approximately Renaissance period (15th-16th century). A little internet search revealed the medieval names of Iberian peninsula to be quiet different.

I have also included Spanish names in mods, per that reference. Alas.

No problem. You can't fault a person for following what's in the book.

However, I believe that no purpose is served by propagating a mistake, so I wanted to correct the error.

I'll see if we can go back and correct the incorrect names in the adventures.

Thanks!

The use of Spanish names in Salantis is (is the real world) a very common thing. As previous posters mentioned, it's explicitly in the PGtA and ARPG rule books as well as lots of Arcanis modules. Spanish names are even used in an entire Invisible King domain which named the Governor as Lopez.

Henry certainly can come forward and state that every one of those references to Spanish names is wrong, but it definitely is a retcon in the campaign world. Having information from Henry on the proper naming style and some hints about the culture in that province, please, would go a long way towards correcting players' understanding rather than simply telling us that all of us have always been wrong about those names.

Wait, so I won't be able to play under the name of Osvaldo Salvador Garcia, Ex-Legionnaire of La Chancleta Furiosa?

Oh, the shame ... da agomany!
