I think this needs a little word-smithing. Maybe... Quote: You cannot choose this background if you possess the Arcane or Divine archetypes nor if you posses any spellcasting talents (except val bloodline powers). Further, you may not possess any of these talents when character creation is done. Currently, it could potentially be read that an Expert with Prestidigitation could qualify. They aren't Arcane or Divine and don't acquire any spell casting abilities (they already have Prestidigitation by the time background is chosen). |

Went back and read the errata as written, rather than just your revision. I think you are right, and it needs to be clarified. |

I think the only way that happens is if someone is being intentionally obtuse and claiming Prestidigitation isn't a spellcasting talent. |

I agree that most people will easily see the intent but I don't think it's written as clearly as it could be (but maybe it's just me). Since PCI is changing it, they may as well be as explicit as possible. |
