Q: Can you try multiple times to cast a binding
spell?
A: See the last paragraph of Binding Spells on
page 346. You may only Attempt cast 1 binding
spell per scene; you may wish to cast an
additional binding spell at t
he cost of 1 fate
point. A failed attempt is still the casting of a
spell... keep this in mind when being effected by
counter spell

pedro if a counter spell is not a casting (like it says in counterspell you should probably remove the underlined text

I agree the text needs to be removed. However, I think the intent of what was written was that if your Binding Spell is countered, that you can't recast it that scene. This also isn't true since being affected by Counter Spell isn't 'failing' to cast the spell, it is as if the spell was never cast and you are just pushed.

If this is indeed the case -- a countered Binding spell cannot be attempted again that scene -- then some verbiage is needed to make it clear. Otherwise, I'd argue that since a countered spell is not a failed casting, then I should be able to try again. I'd be wrong, but that doesn't mean that in the heat of combat my poor GM wouldn't agree with me.

Maybe I worded it oddly but...

Given that the errata says:
Quote:
Q: What happens to a caster who has his spell countered, beyond the push listed in the talent? Does he suffer the strain for the spell? What is the speed cost of a countered spell?
A: The spell has no effect and they suffer d4 push as mentioned in the talent, they do not suffer strain as the spell was never cast.

A Countered Spell was never cast; therefore, you can try your binding again that scene.
