Path of the Bestial Lion
Combines Path of the Shadow Lion with Claws of the Beast

Tradition: Animism [Tier III]
Component: Path of the Winged Raptor (Animism) (pg. 411)
Category: Advanced
CTN: 24 (23+16-1)
Speed (Strain): 7 (+0) (6+2/2) (0+0)
Range: Self
Duration: Scene (D)

Effect: You change into a shadow lion with elongated claws. You retain your Talents, Defenses, Stamina, and Prowess and Vigor die. You gain the shadow lion’s attacks (d8 claw. D6 bite), Pace (40’), Stealthy and Owl-Eyed Talents, as well as the Shadow Lion’s Might (d10) and Quickness dice (d10). While under the effects of this spell, all of your equipment melds into your new form (becoming unusable for the duration of this ability). You may not cast spells, or communicate while in lion form.
Adaptation: Increase the CTN by 3 to lower the Speed of this spell by 1.
Adaptation: Increase the CTN by 4 and Speed by 1 to apply a Die Bump to the claws’ damage die. This Adaptation may be applied multiple times.
Adaptation: Increase the CTN by 4 to increase your Might die to d12.
Adaptation: Increase the CTN by 4 to increase your Quickness die to d12
Adaptation: Increase the CTN by 6 to also gain the Powerful Attack (Claw) (pg. 328) and Ravenous (pg. 328) Monstrous Talents while in Shadow Lion form.
Adaptation: The caster may increase the CTN by 9 to gain the Two-Weapon Fighting Talent (pg. 211) while attacking with both claws.

So, I did this combination to ask if there is a synergy here. Both spells give claws, with one granting a d4 and an ability to boost the damage die, and one giving a d8, but no ability to boost the die. So my take on it is, by combining these spells, the claw damage bumps up to d8 (the shadow lion claw damage type) but can then be boosted using the claws of the beast adaptation (without having to pay for the upgrade from d4 to d6, or d6 to d8). Is this correct? If so, than using this means that it might be viable to bump both the claw damage, and the might damage to d12s.
