Post subject:  Where is Old Coryan in relation to Grand Coryan?

Greetings,

My understanding has been that Old Coryan as detailed in the Carnival of Swords, is a piece of the larger city of Grand Coryan. Looking at the map in Carnival there is not a clear. Are the two close but geographically separated with the Via Carrus being the road connecting them? Alternatively, if I'm looking for information on Grand Coryan itself, is there anything I should be looking at? I have most if not all of the source books and mods from the 3.0/3.5 days forward, so even old references are helpful.

Thanks.

With a sweep of his hat,

Paul

Old Coryan is separate iirc. I don’t have books in front of me, but I think they are on opposite banks of the Corvus river

Old Coryan is on the eastern banks of the Corvis River, with Grand Coryan built on the western banks.

Grand Coryan is also (now) known to be built over enormous crevasses that extent down into the lavender way that have been entirely covered over by construction, and some tunnels etc, are used for moving trade, etc. underground within the city. How the Corvis River is kept from flowing into the crevasses is unknown. It is mentioned that a large aqueduct system was put in when Grand Coryan was built, so I assume fresh water is generally brought in from overhead via aquaducts connected to the Corvis River further upstream rather than via wells that would have to extend unimaginably deep to encounter groundwater.
