What do people think about the idea that the PoM used the Birthing Chamber of the Gods...either in the past or at some point in the future?

I used to think that the birthing chamber of the gods was the vehicle/device that would allow someone to start using the well of souls (beltine's Cauldron, Kassegore's maw, the Orumar, whatever you want to call it) that beings souls go to as a source of power for divine magic. This was when I thought divine magic did not use the building blocks of creation like arcane magic, because it was strongly indicated in "to peel the veil of lightness and shadow" that they have different sources.

Now of course, we are hearing regularly that all magic, arcane and divine, come from the same sources, so that idea is shot to hell.

I don't presume that the PoM's family tree is meant to be literal. In real-world myths (e.g., Greek), such family connections usually are literal, but we don't have other myths of the PoM to give foundation to treating them as such.

For example, maybe Illiir and Saluwe were hanging out, and they found two brothers who joined their party. Later they met other cool people who joined the party one by one. Then they met another group of awesome Gods, and they all teamed up. They knew that it was much more than a hunch that this group must somehow form a family, and that's how they became the Pantheon of Man.

Or maybe Illiir became a God first. He met another awesome Goddess named Saluwe, and they liked each other. When they were traveling around, they helped some other mortals (maybe even their worshipers) become gods, and the "family" grew by helping other worthy mortals become divine.

The above is mere speculation.
