::Haakon waits patiently in line to see if he can pass through a pillar of flame::

Anyone else reconsidering their character paths, or wishing to make new characters with the new book out?

I'm very excited to see the WotEF path, but that shouldn't surprise anyone. Won't need to rebuild to access it, but I now have a much better idea of what my T3 and T5 paths will be :)

I'm thinking I may swap the Zealot flaw for the Jingoistic flaw on Raseri, but I need to think it out a little.

Though not for any of my current characters, I really like the Galloping Rain fighting style, and of course the Runic Warrior is pretty cool. Also for a future character, I think it would be really interesting to make a character with the Blind flaw. It would be challenging to make a blind character who is actually useful in combat.

Was I the only person who thought 'wtf?' when they came across the Ossarion Chimera?

Thank you Starbucks. I've downloaded the book! And am typing furiously thanks to the added caffeine!

And yes...that isn't the Chimera of Greek myth (or D&D fame)...but I really like it! The Greek word "Chimera" either originally meant or has come to mean the (con)fusion of different animal parts. So in that sense the Ossarion Chimera, produced by dark alchemy, is perfect. A little bit of elephant...a little lion...some wings to fly on...also clearly a cousin to the Ossarion Manticore.

I wonder if Ossarion alchemy might account for ratmen or hyennamen?

On yet another hand I wonder where the elephants came from? When Queen Alezhia appeared out of the South she had war elephants which had never been seen before in the Coryani Empire. I assume the Ossarions had elephants too (from somewhere). I wonder if any sages or Centurions said at the time ..."hey that things got the same ******* head as the Chimera!"

A couple of my tertiaries may get a re-build once I cross-reference a few rules.

Agrippina may get a tweak once I think about the mounted archery options presented.

Is everything in the book legal for play? Are we now allowed to have characters from the Blessed Lands/First City? No limit on diety worship?

Everything in that book is legal to play. You may build a character from the Blessed Lands. Deity worship is as standard. As such, you are entirely free to make a First City Death Monger who picks their spells from the Divine Trinity spell list.

I will say, however, that since we do not have rules for the Hunnai at this time (those being the humans who worship Belisarda) you cannot have a human worshiper of Belisarda at this time. The Hunnai religion is NOT the same as the Elorii religion, and therefore you cannot simply use existing rules to cover their rather odd religion.

Hello,

Cody is correct.

However, though this may be obvious to the majority of you, you cannot play characters from nations not specifically stated as available. So no Khitani, Dailish, Hunai, etc.

Additionally, the Tultipetan dwarf is restricted to those that have the certificate allowing them to do so.

There are lots of character ideas to play. The first rules item that will get used is the manica with The Mountain, my former gladiator myrmidon. I really like the anointed weapon and could easily pair it with soldier saint, laughing viper or warrior of the eternal flame. Too many choices, not enough play time. :)

With a sweep of his hat,

Paul
