Can anyone tell if there are any major universities or libraries throughout Onara? Specifically in Tralia?

There really aren't many of what we would think in the modern term as a University. That said, there are major scholarly facilities in Grand Coryan and New Althare'. Names escape me at the moment, however.

There is a major Library in Tralia that is mentioned in "To Drink Poison from Gold" though I don't remember its name.

There is the Royal War College in Naeraanth (where once you had to go to learn the arts of the War Mind).

In the original Codex from the 3rd edition/3.5 days there is a reference to the University of Naeraanth from Olisand of Seltemeris who is the human narrator of the Elorii section.

There may be other references but that's what I can come up with off the top of my head.

In the modern sense of the word, I suspect that the only nation that would have anything resembling a university would be Altheria. Higher learning there is likely to be somewhat more democratic, while everywhere else on Onara it would be restricted to the wealthy, the clergy, and perhaps through apprenticeships.

I know I would be interested in hearing a Henry answer for this though, as it is a good question.

There are institutions of learning financed by the Church and various noblemen. I can think of six we've mentioned in Milandir alone.

Would these be available to the common public though? I would imagine that a student would still need to be wealthy, or have a wealthy benefactor to attend.

Which is why a poor student should seek out professor Delbert.

Essentially agreed. Most peasants (or worse) get limited education from the Church and or parents. Most "middle class" craftsmen get their education from the master who oversees their apprenticeship. A lot of book learning is the domain of the well heeled.

Still, many characters will meet that bar fairly easily.

I really don't know the point to the question. If you wanted to character to have attended a school as his back story, since it grants no mechanical benefit, write the back story.
