Black ice and Elemental bolt cannot be combined, they do not share the same duration (Scene Special and instant)

Correct

Very disappointing to hear this as it severely limits conceptual advanced spells right in the bud, but "eh", back to the drawing board.

Harliquinn wrote:
If you want the spell to be more than 1 Target, you must apply the 30' (10' Radius) Adaptation to Elemental Bolt first. Then combined with Black Ice, it becomes 30' (5' Radius). You then can apply either adaptation to the Advanced Spell (assuming the adaptation makes sense)

From the proposed Errata:

"To form an Advanced spell, both Base Spells must share the same Source and Duration." The part of having the same Area was removed in the errata.

"Range: Is equal to the shortest Range and/or smallest Area and Lowest number of Targets"

And here's the one that caused me to think you could mix spells of different durations.

"Special: Spells with Scene as a duration (being special or dispellable) may be combined resulting in the advanced spell losing the dispellable qualifier and gaining any (Special) modifications to the spell's duration."

These three clauses it what provided the inspiration to make Arctic Impact and Mental Fatigue. I may have misinterpreted them, but the way they are worded can cause such misinterpretation.
