It is with great regret that I must tell you that one of our good friends passed away yesterday. He was a man who many of you saw and gamed with at Origins, Gen Con or many of the other shows he and his wife attended. He was a big, boisterous man, who's smile and laugh was second only to his heart. Last night I received a phone call telling me that while biking, Rick Brill was struck by a car and passed away. I am still stunned. Our community is diminished by the loss of his presence. I'm sure you'll join me in sending our best wishes, thoughts and prayers to Toni and their daughter. |

I was shocked by the news this morning as well. Rick was such a big part of this community and such a great man all around. He is going to be widely missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to Toni and the whole family. |

Gah. This is sad news. I didn't know Rick well but had the pleasure of playing with him at several Origins and Arcaniscon tables over the years. My heart and prayers go out to his wife and daughter. Thank you Matt and Josh for the links. |

Matt Blank was kind enough to take the lead and setup a GoFundMe page to help Toni and Samantha out with any unforeseen costs, in the immediate moment or in Sam's future, in case you'd like to help in a different way: https://www.gofundme.com/uf59m9fw Additional, Rick's longtime employer, the University of Minnesota - Duluth, has setup a college fund for Samantha as well. I'm working on tracking down that information as well, in case there is interest, and will post it here once I have it. |
