I posted this in the FB Groups, but I forgot to do so here:
Hello everyone,
With Origins 2019 a happy memory and after getting some much needed sleep, I wanted to take a moment to thank all those who made this four-day event possible.
Many, many thanks go to our GMs, both those who signed up and those who stepped up to attend to the overflow of the many new players who tried Arcanis for the first time. The number of tables we ran (many with 7 people so as to accommodate the many who wanted to play) was up considerably from previous shows.
Thank you and welcome to the many new players who got hooked on the campaign and not only played through all (or most) of the adventures offered, but then braved the Battle Interactive with pre-gen Heroes.
Special thanks to Peter Barrenechea who ran an introductory table, some with 8 players, just about every slot. You couldn't tell who was having a better time - the players or Pete!
We had a two-track BI this year, as we are aware that not everyone has a higher level/tier Hero or are "combat monsters". While Track B was not a cake walk, it was not the death trap Track A was. Better yet, even if the Heroes that tackled Track A survived every encounter, their ultimate survival was predicated on the success of the Track B Heroes. It was a close thing. I believe that we had a quite a few deaths, (but they got better), though we did have one Hero erased from reality and another turned to stone (though her table is desperately working on resolving that issue).
A special thanks to the 'younger' members of the Arcanis family who joined us at the Con. Seeing the game from their perspective and witnessing their excitement and wonder only increased the joy of the event. Thank you - you'll always be welcomed at our tables.
Besides the many great GMs, our Origins events couldn't have gone off without the indispensable and hard work of the Arcanis staff - Carl Zinn, Matthew Flinn, Lucas Amodio, and Cody Bergman. Thank you very much gentlemen!
Lastly, thanks to Lindsay and Josh Elliot and Eric Gorman for another late, late, (late) night impromptu rpg session where new plot threads were initiated and I got to continue my torture, I mean the story, of Ambassador Tukufu and his (sometimes) Maghir wife, Belamy (sp?).
I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and felt that the stories we told this year were epic and worthy of your time and dedication.
So with that, we bring another chapter of the Arcanis - War of the Paragons to a close. Pieces are starting to come together and the board is taking shape. What happens next? Stay tuned!
Thanks again for your continued support, everyone!
