Normally over Easter I attend a convention in Melbourne called Conquest to run Arcanis, however this year due to the health of one of my regulars and issues with the con finding a venue, I ran a homegame instead.

Because it was a home game I decided that instead of trying to fit two games in for the day I would run one and we can take our time. The game was Thief in the Library and I am so glad I did.

First of all, everyone loved the game. The scroll market. They had a ball. One of the players was a Altharian scholar and lecher (no not lecturer). A 70+ human man called Old Tom, who, for once, spend his money on books instead of Larissans. he walked away with a copy of "The collected Prophecies of the Destroyer" by Amabssador Tufuku (should of see his face when I gave him an actual PDF + Spoiler warning)

The last combat - woo- what a doozy. Over 3 hours it took. Not a hard combat. Easy Av, 5 points of Armor and they hit hard. + lots of stamina (but not over the top.) It was just that for a group where 90% of them had a theorrtical average damage of 11, (Thus 6 points after Armor) only once did they do 8 point (that was highest) damage after armor. One of the critters has 40 entries in my damage column before he was taken down. They really took nickle and Diming to the new level.

Despite that, a good time was had by all and everyone agreed it was a hoot. Well done to the Authors on this one.

Hi Dean,

Really glad you liked it. The final fight certainly can be tough, which was intentional. Matt is the one who deserves the praise (blame?) for those stats.

Thanks for letting me know your group had fun, it is nice to hear :)

Same, greatly enjoyed it here as well. Bonus points for the RP'ing enabled by being a Seramasi Kelekene and the many "TSA-worthy" moments provided by justifiably paranoid Altherians who happened to lack the fundamental hypocrisy required to screen me out.

That they now think of me as "one of the good ones" really brings a smile to my face. 8-)

Fun mod, rollicking good time.

For me "Thief in the Library" joins "As Heaven Bickers..." and "Once Upon a Time in Metra" as the stand out soft point mods in the current Arc. Kudos to Akira.

I also had the pleasure of having for him for our judge at Arcaniscon. Whenever you can get the author to run their own module that a special thing. Thanks for also being a great judge.
