SPOILER WARNING: Spoilers for A1-HP10 "Desecration" follow....

Nierite wrote:
2) "Infernal God" from Desecration - Name not given/clear (that I saw)

The module elaborates a bit on page 17. It says that the Infernals worship four such "gods", but it elaborates on only the one who's being worshipped in that horrid shrine. It was Azathulia, the Leviathan of Madness. It demanded sacrifices of pain and madness. No details are given on the other four. The Infernal priest in that adventure cast Cants and the Infernal Corruption tradition, though campaign staff has indicated that sometimes adventure stats are used to represent concepts for playability and not because they are exact implementation of a story concept.

The names of some other Myrantian deities are also known, and below is a list. They might also be more specifically noted as the beings worshipped by the Myrantian Hegemony since there are a couple subtle hints that the people who settled the Myrantis we know these days (perhaps more suitably called New Myrantis) were outcast from the larger Myrantian Empire because of their vile religion.

  • Mahememnûn: Phaeron in Myrantis who was rewarded by becoming the divine Gatekeeper of the Underworld
  • Mutneferet, the Mother of Beauty: lesser goddess who represents unfettered lust, gluttony, violence, and greed
  • Mose, the Caller of the Dark: worshipped as Tzizhet’s seer; considered the prophet of the Myrantian Gods
  • The um’Shakti, the “cracked or broken god.” It was split into two parts, destruction and protection. Khukakra, the separated twin, is the Myrantian God of Protection.
  • Shu, the Dark Archon of the Fifth Dimension: Lord of the Air and god of magic as well as the god of Strength
  • Teph: thought to be connected to the Fida'i cult of fanatical killers
  • Tzizhet, the Many-Limbed, the Blood God, the Great God of Blood and Triumph: Lord of the Gods and the god of death and destruction

Also omitted from the list is Aii.

I believe there is at least one additional Myrantian diety known, though I don't have the resources to name her right now. Their goddess of sex and madness I believe.

But... the one thing I didn't know anything about was the three sisters. Where did that come from? (Or is that spoiler for the current campaign?)

They were posted on the last incarnation of these forums as a spoiler for the then-coming Codex Arcanis (expanded edition), along with the names of groups like the Cult of the Bull and the Godless. Further details beyond this are not presently known.

There are other beings of god-like power purported to exist in the cosmos, but whether they are Gods, Elder Beings, or merely odd powers is difficult to say. Some of these are probably false or misunderstand or never existed to begin with. Regardless of their true nature, let us speak of them in whispers lest the Inquisition hear us speak of such heresies....

  • The Black Sorcerer in Old Coryan was given offerings by cult members who worshipped this ancient Myrantian sorcerer. When his spirit was freed, it was seen doing battle in the sky with Manetas.
  • The God of the Hills was worshipped by the Triduae people who became the Coryani, and the Cult of the Horned King maintains the primitive rituals to this day. The Mother Church says it's an aspect of Saluwe.
  • Anguillizrass is an immense aboleth worshipped by Sahuagin and Aboleths
  • The Hyena Queen of the Northern Hinterlands is reportedly immortal and worshipped by a cult, but it's unclear whether she is merely long-lived and powerful or is a rising godling
  • The Issori God, called the "Progenitor of All", apparently had multiple facets. Some facets were imprisoned or maddened, but the fates other facets and the core deity remain unknown.
  • Nefernetka, the Brine Queen, is an unbound Infernal lord known as the Lady of Salt and Blood. Her cult arises now and again in the Western Lands.

Strangely, there is more than one heretical being in the Ocean. Maybe they are all misunderstandings of Yarris. Maybe they are each individual other divine beings of the sea. Or maybe we mortals merely fail to understand the greatness and deepness of the true Lord of the Sea....
  • Leviathan, Dark Master of the Depths, is a heretical godlet that is a twisted version of Yarris
  • The Devourer of Lost Souls was worshipped by the Yarric Heresy. They said the Devourer predated the other Gods and has an endless hunger that takes any who are weak or foolish at sea

Finally, in the old d20 days of Arcanis, there were several cults based in Freeport. These cults were based on Lovecraftian writings. They came into Arcanis only because of the Green Ronin vision of Freeport (circa late 17th century pirates of the Caribbean), and with PCI's revised vision of Freeport (Mediterranean pirates in the Roman period), Henry Lopez has said he longer longer considers them canon for Arcanis:
  • The Unspeakable One, also called the Great Old One, was worshipped by the ancient Ssanu of Valossa/Valusia as well as the more recent Brotherhood of the Yellow Sign.
  • The Crawling Chaos is an entity worshipped by the cultists of the Esoteric Order of Starry Wisdom. It is associated with sorcery, the underworld, and the dark powers of the night.

But I'm sure those are all just tales told to frighten children, just as the tales are that the Twelve True Gods used to enjoy battle against the Elder Beings from the Outer Realms.

Hello,

FYI - These are entities from Green Ronin's Freeport setting and no longer canon for copyright reasons.

Quote:
Oyi reportedly predates the Gods of Men and was worshipped by the High Kio. The Cult of Oyi, if their existence is to be believed, is a mystery.

Can you provide a reference for this? Maybe I'm just getting old but I don't remember recall the name, although there is an entity similar to this referenced in the forthcoming Kio book.

Small edit

Nierite wrote:

This is not correct.
The only known information of Hara'mia's brother is given from Hara'mia himself. And when he recalls what happened to his siblings. his exact words are:
Quote:
Your other gods made quick work of my divine siblings, though to my surprise, the Dark One of the Flashing Daggers let one my brothers escape to the land of shadow and darkness...

Three important points make Nierite's and val Holryn's comment incorrect.
1) Hara'mia calls Cadic the Dark One, it seems to mean Cadic already had the shadow aspect added at this time.
2) No where does it say his brother was Lord of Shadows just that he fled to the land of shadows at Cadic's discretion.
3) We have no proof that Hara'mia's brother is dead.

I too recall the story of how Cadic got the shadow aspect by killing the former Lord of Shadow. But Hara'mia's brother doesn't fit the bill from what information we've been given.

Henry has said (I'll post the quote if I can find it) that the reason Hara'mia's brother was allowed to live was because he fled to the Shadow Plane, and was the very Lord of Shadows that Cadic would later have to kill in order to assume his mantle of the Lord of Shadows.

Remember, time travel, so if the PoM went back in time (having already assumed their powers), then Cadic would have to ensure that his means of gaining power was already intact, which meant not killing someone so the younger version of Cadic could then kill the Lord of Shadows as part of the mission to bring Illiir back to life after he was killed by Neroth.

Time travel is confusing.
