Funny story to share from running "Born of the Fires of Hell" today for a group in Boston. SPOILERS below. When the heroes had taken care of the cyclopes and aztyrs in the Nol Doppan arena, a PC priest went to check out the crazily dancing cyclops explicitly to see if it was performing a magic ritual. Due to an utterly, ultimately critically failed skill check (three 1s) in examining the dance, the priest was convinced that he had definitely heard of this before. As GM, I termed it the Curse Dance of Ultimate Torture. Even after the party stopped the Heat Gnats and the Infernal Devil-King, they convinced the Nol Doppan king that he needed to outlaw dancing lest any traitors bring back the plague. Henceforth, in our home version of Arcanis, dancing has been banned by the king of Nol Doppa! Dancing is still legal in Erduk, but the Erdukeen will be wary of it. (The player also earned a Fate point for great role-playing even though he knew he'd rolled three 1s.) |
