I must say, well done there. That is exactly what a teaser should be. I look forward to the full release when it finally comes out.

Nice! Okay, I am officially intrigued. I can't help but wonder if somehow this isn't connected to Sengal's actions on pg 76 of the old Coils:

From those dusty pages [...of Ss'koreth's notes...] Sengal intended to conjure an Elemental Lord from the Plane of Fire; a being so immensely powerful that it had the power to grant life itself. ....snip.... the Elemental Lord turned to the Ssanu and viewed him askance. From the forked tongue of the tiny mortal words spilled forth in the language of fire, "So, Great Lord, shall we begin? I believe I have a proposition you will find amusing..."

Just what has returned? I can't wait to find out.

Just wondering if there had been any decisions made as to what will/can/should be released from the BEAST and Andaii tables?

Sorry it took so long! Work got crazy since October and I didn't get a chance to work on this as much as I wanted to. But at long last, the Prologue is done! Unfortunately, I can't attach it (see below).

I decided to write a Prologue because when I was writing Chapter 1, I realized that most people don't know these characters. And in the course of normal short stories, there's some form of character development or introduction. That never happened during the course of the game, as we obviously all knew each other already, but I felt it was important. Thus the Prologue was born.

One thing I do want to address is a misconception I've often heard about BEAST. We didn't start out this campaign looking to have an all Ss'ressen table; it was just James Hall and I to start. My sister came next, because we realized after playing the first year that we needed a caster type (minion killer). After that, I met Matt (Ss'eth) at a BI table; we had never met or adventured together before. It was at that same BI that the other players actually started calling our small group (only 3-4 at the time) "Ss'ressen Team 6" (because that was around the timeframe of SEAL Team 6's mission). We thought it was kind of catchy, but wanted to be a little more original than that, so we modified it and BEAST was born. We've had players in 5 different states, so we only get to play together at Origins, but when we do we truly embrace this "special forces team" attitude.

As for the actual Prologue...I can't attach it. The Forums claim that .pdf isn't an allowable file type; anyone know what kind of files we CAN attach? We would rather attach it in PDF than Word, so maybe if there's not a way for me to post the PDF a Moderator could? Or does anyone have any other thoughts on how/where to post it?

Any time I work on anything long I do it up in word, and then just copy/paste into the text box for a post. Is the prologue to long for that?

Talk to Eric or Henry about posting a file; they will know what works (and how to do it).

It's about 9 pages long, so I'm not sure that posting it is an option. ;)

I'll talk to Eric, I know Henry's really busy with real life right now. Thanks James!

You can always take a page from Ambassador Tukufu and post it 5,000 words or so at a time. Hell, you can even release it over the course of days to keep us all in suspense ;)

At long last! We tried to get this out before ArcanisCon, but at least it's here now! Again, this is just the prologue, if you want to familiarize yourself with the characters. Chapter 1 will be forthcoming soon!

I decided to put all of the story on my Google Drive, to make it easier to get things posted in a timely manner and overall convenience for me. =) Chapter 1 is complete and located at the following link, along with the Prologue. Please let me know if there are issues accessing the documents!
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing

Chapter 2 is in work and just about finished; trying to make a determination as to where it's best to split Chapter 2 and 3. I expect 2 will be posted before Origins; Chapter 3 may get up RIGHT before as well.

Hope you enjoy!
