Val'Assante = Voucis (Bloody Sands of Sicaris IIRC) Val'Holryn=Woodszif (KoP document, this small family breeds large hounds) |

Resurrecting this post as it is a good research point. We can also add Goshin as a former vassal of the val'Tai |

What does it mean to be a "former" vassal family? |

I believe the val'Tai were scions of Sarish that were stripped of all lands and ranking If memory serves me correctly then they would have become ul'Tai if this did not happen Because of this, Goshin were once a vassel family but no longer |

Normally a "former vassal family" would be a family of human nobles that have fallen out of favor with their val Patrons. Such as House Otrecto (from the Original campaign) who fell out of favor following the adventure Grains of Sand. They didn't cease to be patricians, but they lost their status as one of the 5 families that the val'Dellenov utilize for grain distribution and became persona non grata where-ever the val'Dellenov's have power. I had forgotten the tale of the Goshin family. As mentioned they survived the exile of their val patrons and are presumably the premier "family" of Sarish in the Khitani empire. |
