As you may have noticed, the forums are still up and running. We're trying something less drastic to keep it active, although there's still a chance we may need to remove it.

The issue is that there have been a number of attacks on the website and they all originate from these bots/hackers/what-have-you through the forums. So, in an effort to stop this, we switched off the ability to join the forum.

This is less than an optimal solution, as only those on here can now are the only ones that can post, but it's a stop-gap measure while a better one is implemented.

At least the posts are preserved for posterity and your edification.

I'll keep everyone posted on any further developments.
