A long, long time ago, Henry Lopez posted a link to The Demon Hunter's Companion as a potential resource for WH GMs. They don't post much, but when they do it's usually a doozy. Now and then, it's fun to take whatever horror they've researched and put it into Witch Hunter terms. And since it seems I've been really lax about posting on my blog, I give you... The Nuckelavee, the Devil of the Sea. The Nuckelavee (pronounced nuh-kel-ah-vee) is a terrible abomination that comes out of the sea when darkness falls to bring sickness and death to humans, animals, and the very land itself. They is most common to the southern coast of Scotland, though encounters have been recorded throughout the British Isles. These creatures are associated with the Unseelie Court of the Fey, though they are not faerie spirits themselves. The rest is here. Enjoy! Tom |
