Ok, so an "untrained" character (that is, one without the Attack Focus Talent in a particular weapon) may still attempt any of the weapon's tricks but suffers an additional 1d to the Trick's wager. Thus, an unskilled character with a Fencing Sword who attempts the Between the Seams (Basic, 1d Wager) trick would need to make a 2d Wager. That makes sense.
But is there any penalty for a trained character to use a Heroic Trick? That is, a starting character that has Attack Focus (Fencing Sword) wants to perform the Vicious Riposte (Heroic, 1d Wager) trick on a foe. Is it still a 1d wager regardless of the character's melee skill?
