Ok, so just off the top of my head, I have three possible scenarios that sound like fun:
THE PLAGUE SHIP Setting: Boston Harbor Hook: A ship has been quarantined in Boston, Harbor. The cadre has heard rumors that its cargo includes a unholy artifact. Adversaries: Diabolists, Shrivelchildes, and a big freakin' devil Set Pieces: Rigging, sails, powder kegs, cannons
GUESTS FOR DINNER Setting: A masquerade ball in Paris Hook: A party thrown from visiting (Romanian) nobility with known ties to the Adversary. Adversaries: vampyrs, vampire lord (not the shiny variety) Set Pieces: Chandeliers, long tables, candelabras, fancy masks Alternate: the adversaries are Aztec skinwalkers.
FOOD FOR THE GODS Setting: Primordial Forest in the American Colonies Hook: Indian troubles Adversaries: Mad Shaman, old way loyalists, a summoned totem god Set Pieces: Tall trees, battlefields, ancient burial grounds
Alternates: Black Forest vs necromancers and undead Children's Graveyard vs a distraught mother, a cunning devil, and a horde of baby ghouls Roanoke (because why not)
If all these seem formulaic and a bit cliche, that's alright. It's a demo, and meant to be a quick one at that. Do any of these sound more appealing than others? Which one screams Witch Hunter to you?
Tom
