Greetings,

I will be running HP10 Desecration this Thursday March 20th starting at 7:30 PM. My intent is to get through HP10 - 14 of the Crusade, SP9 Not My Daughter and at least Hard Points 1 - 3 in the Coming of the Destroyer arc by the middle of May before Origins. The mods will primarily be run on Tuesday nights, with a couple of Saturdays and a couple of Thursdays, this one being one of them. I am looking for a GM for Hard Point 12, ideally for Saturday April 5th in the evening. I'm also looking for a GM for Coming of the Destroyer Hard point 3 on Saturday May 17th.

Given that this is a weeknight, I will be starting promptly at 7:30 or as soon as I am ready. There will be a hard stop at 11:30 PM EST. If you are interested, please respond to this thread.

GM: Paul Gerwe

Players:
1. Nicole Gerwe
2. Jim Gerwe
3. Patrick Gray
4. EddieS

With a sweep of his hat,

Paul

I'm definitely interested. However, I am completely new (i.e. have no friggin clue) how this works for online play. PM if/when you get a chance in. I hope to get acclimated enough to join in.

Thanks in advanced,

Hi Eddie,

I'll post here for the general process so if others have questions it's easy enough get the information as well. I will need an email address to send the various links to, so if you can PM me the email address to use, that would be helpful.

I'll be using the Roll20.net site to run the game and Google Hangouts for audio and video. You'll want to go to Roll20.net in advance and set up a login. It takes just a few minutes. Likewise I believe you'll need a Google account as well to access the Hangouts. A headset is helpful or at least some sort of mic. If you don't have one, you can at least still hear what's going on but will be forced to type any responses in the chat. I've seen it work in the few games I've played, though certainly far easier if you can talk. If you know you'll be only chat for communicating, let me know so I'll know to look for your comments.

Before the game I'll send the players the link to the campaign on the Roll20 site so you can log in, likewise I'll send out a link to the Google Hangout we'll use. Roll20 has native audio / video capabilities but others I've talked to have said that Hangouts generally works better.

The audio piece is far more important than the video, so from that perspective it'll run something like a normal game. Rolling dice for players will all be done within Roll20. There's a Getting Started guide for players (https://wiki.roll20.net/Getting_Started_Players) you'll find helpful in getting the basics of the mechanics down. Say your attack with a weapon is d10+3. The syntax on Roll20 would be /roll 2d10+1d10!+3. The ! indicates that the die can explode. All that's covered on the site.

I will provide guidance as we go, so if you don't have time to review it in advance that's fine.

We'll use the chat window from within Roll20 for some descriptions and dice rolling. It's possible to send private messages via a whisper command /w so you can carry on private conversations with folks without disturbing others, or ask me questions as the GM.

I think that covers the basics. If you have more questions, let me know.

With a sweep of his hat,

Paul

Excellent. I'll work on the roll20.net account tonight/tomorrow so I should be up and ready by Thursday. Anything else you need? Do I need to submit my character 'n' whatnot?

Thx in advanced,

Thanks Eddie. Glad you enjoyed it. I expect it'll run much smoother next time as we'll all have done it at least once.

With a sweep of his hat,

Paul
