Post subject:  Alchemical items - Can they be purchased?

Hi all

Probably a silly question, but after a game a couple of days ago when my players got reamed by little green swamp people it was asked if there were potions of healing that they could buy. My initial response was no, magic items are not allowed.

But searching through FiM, I noticed that the Alchemical items has a SP value, so I was wondering if they count as magic items or if they can be purchased by PCs (much the same way runes can)

As an FYI, from memory there is a alchemical brew that heals 1d6 (vigor) stamina, and a potion that does 3d6(vigor), from memory

Thanks
Dean/Taffy

Just going off of memory but I think the answer was yes. Though they wouldn't be the easiest thing to find.

I think the rule is you can buy alchemical items of your Tier or lower. That said, in module, its at the judges discretion if they are available. In a Grand Coryan or Naeraanth? Sure. Mil Takara? Not sure. The tiny Hamlett of Green Sticks in the middle of nowhere, no. See also scrolls for consumable magic.

Scrolls haven't made it into the campaign guide yet.

Even when they do, at 1GC per tier, they're not a cheap purchase.
