I wrote an article on how Coryani Battle Mages fit into the legion structure over on the Arcanis: World of the Shattered Empires Facebook Group, if anyone's interested in reading about that topic.

Henry,

Great read! Now I'm wishing I had a Coryani Battlemage in this campaign. I'll just have to find one for my Legionnaire to adopt. :)

With a sweep of his hat,

Paul

Hi Henry,

Thanks for the read, always nice to see these sorts of writeups. I'm interested to hear more about the shamans/hedge mages who fight with some of the legions. Are these people who join the legions as 'infantry' and happen to have a knack for the arcane, or do the legions actively (if quietly/unofficially) recruit magic users from villages?

Thanks again, enjoyed the read.

Not that hard, Eric. It's free and really not that big of a hassle to set up.

Don't have time to do a full write up like the one I just did, but in my mind, it's pretty organic. Either they are infanrty that show some sort of knack for teh arcane/primal and are "promoted" to "Squad Mage" (this is especially true for those Centuries/Legions that don't have Auxillia Magus).

Other times these hedge mages are recruited by the legions as they "recruit" in an area to bolster their numbers, especially before a planned campaign.

If you don't mind, I'm going to crosss post this on the FB Group so I can have everything in onme place for future reference.

Hi Henry,

I would prefer if you cross-posted FB information into this forum. I rarely use FB on principle due to the amount of datamining/advertising and hideous amount of data it chews through (and can't access it from work at all). My provider recently gave a 'free' upgrade to 150GB/month as the wife was using 1.5GB/day just from FB...

Australia is still in the third world when it comes to "good" internet.

. . . Have you tried shutting off the FB video play option? My wife and I share 1 GB of data and the only reason we push that is Pokemon. The rest of the time we rely on Wifi.

My objections to FB generally aren't about difficulty in setting an account up. I work in education and have seen too many articles (and know of someone first hand) who have gotten in trouble or been fired for FB content...sometimes that their "friends" have posted.

Like a number of other people who work in museums and schools I have an enlightened self interest in taking my digital privacy seriously. It only takes one angry parent to call you to the carpet or cover you in mud.

Still if FB becomes the preferred medium of disseminating campaign bennies I'll look into an account with the privacy controls dialed up to max...

I couldn't agree with you more. I also do not have an account. When I'm curious what friends or family are up to I'll occasionally go in under my wife's account, but there are far too many examples of 'professional' people getting into trouble through social media.
