Question: Was Umor the most dangerous threat to the world, or to the Pantheon, or even to the coming domination of mankind? All we really know is that the Pantheon of Man believed him to be evil, but since the victor writes history, we cannot be sure

This is a valid point. In Elorii history Umor appeared peacefully and was able to convince Belisarda of...something before she disappeared.

It seems that many forces are working at the same goal but they are going about it their own way.

The Pantheon of Man seems to be travelling through time, space and planes trying to give humans the best chance of survival possible. Gaining allies like Valinor and Celestial Giants (dwarves). Building armies like the Infernal armies bound by Sarish. And making tools like crystals from the bones of an elder race, that protect against a specific but unknown Death Effect (from Sacrifice of Generations)
Kassegore and Yig have their own plan with Yig joining the PoM and Kassegore in hiding. Who knows if the PoM is aware of her true identity.
Belisarda has also gone missing and is either doing something alone, or following a plan that Umor told her to do.

All of the Gods seem to have a single goal, push back/defeat The Silence and Entropy.

Yes, I was a bit thrown by this as well. Belisarda met with Umor, and apparently did something to help him. It’s unknown what, but I like the idea that it was helping make a new race together, since that is where her expertise seems to lie. But the Elorii teachings and prophecy is that Umor warned her about the coming of the Silence, and that we would need to work together to defeat it. That really didn’t sound like he was a servant of the entropy, does it? That was why I originally thought he might have been fighting the PoM about how to go about fighting the Silence – you know, just different methods – like “I consume you all, and then as one super god I have the power to defeat the Silence.” Not something you would expect them to support, but also not necessarily wrong.

Vexing priests spoilers (I think)…..

Additionally, I believe it was the Aii believers that believe there is only one god, and all the PoM are just aspects of parts him – including Umor. And thus, the PoM kind of went crazy when the bound Umor, because they imprisoned a portion of themselves. Our only exposure to this faith seemed to be a pretty benevolent guy. So the idea that this could be a possibility seemed reasonable too, since we believe this is kind of how the Issori religion appeared to work as well.

And finally, if the Kio were his servants, we haven’t seen any indication that they are evil or in league with entropic forces, so that would also seem to indicate he could be not terribly, unrepentantly evil.

So I was really thinking I was on to something about Umor being, “Not That Bad” (NTB). I read the really cool ancient prophecy of Kassegore and thought – the dark on dealing with the enemies of creation and causing the breaking could be someone else. (I was thinking the sorcerer king, since it’s believed he had a soldier of entropy on hand the last time someone dared explore the Isle) But then I saw the prophecy about what happened if Menatas won – and Umor being freed from the moon killing everything and bringing the Silence. That was pretty much a deal killer to me. And apparently its past that point in time that looking drove Larissa mad. And voiceless ones in the future work magic making it harder to divine the future, and cloud their activities from detection. That all looked pretty bad for Umor.

I would love to hear if there is some way that others reconcile that.

The combination of stories we have are all a jumbled mess. Maybe there are mistakes, misunderstandings, omissions, deceptions, and/or lies mixed in there. If nothing else, there are assuredly parts we're missing and thereby just can't get right as things stand. The result is a lot of confusion wherein not all the pieces can be reconciled with each other. It's fun mental exercise to guess, but I really doubt we know enough to work it out all the way.
