I have a distinct memory of a "fact" from Arcanis for which I can't find confirmation anywhere. As demonstrated by the fora here, it's easy to misremember something if we can't cite a precise source, and I'm hoping a player (or even Henry) can set things straight, please.

I recall that late in the Living Arcanis we players learned that Manetas, the Pride of Illiir, had previously influenced Emperor Quron val'Dellenov. This is reasonable from the standpoint of parallels between "Mad Emperor Quron" and the apparent madness of Calsestus. The Coryani Civil War and Abessian rebellion parallel the wars of inter-imperial and intra-imperial conflict that occurred during Quron's reign (e.g., the Second Coryani-Khitani War, Cancerse secession, Altherian secesion). Manetas may even have intentionally made the val'Dellenov dynasty look bad so his children, the val'Assante, could resume the throne. On the other hand, this revelation surprised me (which is why I remember it so strongly) because Blood Reign of Nishanpur says, "Menatas subverted the First Imperium's worship of Illiir and, in secret, he managed to become the personal patron of the Emperor himself." Since it claims Manetas was thereafter imprisoned, I had previously presumed he was out of commission as a statue during the reign of Quron.

This revelation, I think, was made in Year Five or Six, maybe even at the story-arc finale. I have looked through the adventures that I thought might have mentioned it and checked my handwritten notes from the finale, but I don't see it anywhere. Still, I may have missed the right mod or failed to write a note at the right time. On the other hand, maybe it was a dream or faulty memory and I'm wrong. I'd love to get confirmation one way or another as to my memory.

Does anyone recall or know about a connection between Manetas and Emperor Quron? Or can anyone definitely deny its validity?

At the time Manaetas was locked in a statue in Nishanpur.

Henry, thanks for the correction. I don't know how my subconscious mind made up that false "fact," and I'm glad I asked rather than assuming that my memory was correct.
