Good evening everyone, As I come near an end to writing up Chronicle Pages (one last table to do, and just waiting for some feedback on how I should present something particular or if I should even present it at this time), some of you have expressed an interest in knowing what other Heroes took out. While the only real way to find out is to ask them in character, I figured I'd throw out a list of the cool stuff (names only) that went out. I also would like to give Kudos to all those who stepped up and named their weapons. After all, an Exceptional Great Sword with a Fine Nier Rune is all well and good, but it's a bit of a mouthful. So without further ado, the list of (some of) the cool stuff kept from the Vault. Isa of the Shadowed Glen Curse Bearer Tyrfang Mara Heartseeker Shield of Flavious' Folly (one of which was renamed My Burden) Gilly's Blessing Apocalypse Faith's Temper Morning Glory Solari Messis Nier's Caress Bulwark of Saluwe Veil of the Darkseer Nvin Beltine's Call Bold Thrust Ritual Robes of the High Priest Flicker's Flame Hope you guys enjoyed the event. Next year won't be quite so big, nor so loot heavy, but it should be fun nevertheless. |

Man I wish I could have went to ArcaniCon. Of course I learned through bitter experience (and the stupidity of other players Tony as the player of a Beltinian I am curious what Beltine's call is. If I knew who got it I could ask them, but alas I was not able to go to the con. |

Oh and I'm guessing Nier's Caress is that greatsword you mentioned, that is too good a name to not use for such a weapon. |

I'll share a bit of info on the item I got from the Vault. Messis A brutal, solid looking short spear crafted entirely of a single piece of obsidian stone. Engraved up and down it tip are benedictions to Saluwe. This is an exceptional light spear bearing a Fine Amalgamated Saluwe/Stone (weapon) Rune. |

Anyone else have stories about the items that they 'salvaged'? |

Nierite wrote: Anyone else have stories about the items that they 'salvaged'? Stories, hmmm? Picture a man, a legionnaire - broken. Damaged nigh to his very soul. His every sleep, troubled. Music and faith both salvation and crutch. Within the first chamber, within a mural he spies a shadowy blade of his Lord fittingly in the left hand of an Illirite. Reverently he reaches out only to be harshly rejected. His body tossed violently across the room. Unworthy. Imperfect in the eyes and light of Illir. He utters not a word in response to this judgement. For it's true. As he and his companions discover the meaning and layout of the shrines to the gods he leads them down to the shrine of Cadic. In the outer rooms he is tested and deemed worthy. He pulls forth the lyre that soothes wounds unseen and unlocks some of the secrets of the shrine. With insights gained in faith he passes the puzzle of the outer door and enters the inner sanctuary. Within he finds a measure of peace. Here he is made a bit more whole. Here there is shadow and music and in those he unlocks the secrets concealed. Within one room though, within a mural he once again spies sacred blades. Once again he reaches out and attempts to remove one of them. This time though, he is found worthy. Within his outstretched hand he retrieves an exceptional First Imperium short sword that dances with shadow. A fine amalgamated armor rune of shadow and Cadic engraved upon the blade. He is both exhilarated and humbled. Yet gaining the weapon is simply the beginning of his crucible, his test of faith. Since leaving the Vault he has worked long and hard to learn to use it. That much he has managed. He has not yet been able to fully kindle his faith, to move it beyond comfort and crutch to true empowered belief. So far he has not yet managed to start healing his brokenness. Should he manage that though, the full power of Faith's Temper will be his to wield. |
