Got a question about this NPC from the previous campaign. Where can I find out more about him? Played in the old campaign but it's been a few years and the memory's getting fuzy. :-)
Did he have any family? Kids? How did he relate to the rest of the val'Ishi clan? Was Sean Molley the guy who created him? If so can someone put me in touch with Sean so I can pick his brain? I have some ideas concerning him and how he might relate to my val'Ishi character. Nothing that would provide an in-game benefit (unless there's some talent I don't know about), but more along the lines of character development. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Morushun was one of the men we loved to HATE. I believe his official title was Arch Prelate of the Temple of Beltine. He was a powerful and conservative voice in the MC who first appeared in the Year 1 (old campaign) mod Temptations of the Flesh (where PCs also met Menisis and Elandre for the first time). He argued with Felician against reunification with the Church of the Dark Apostate.

Morison went on to join Menisis in the civil war in year 3. The Enlyben-Nevane axis would be joined with Solanos Mor to form the backbone of the rebel faction. In year 4 amour shun declared himself the Patriarch in exile. No one was pleased by this. In the battle of Solonos Mor he was horribly scarred on one side of his body when a column of light, presumably by a valinor, burned through the mountain giving it a "sun roof." In year 5-6 ... apparently unrepentant he organized a legion and personally led it disaster. Unknown to the rebels he was captured and tortured till both sides matched. At that poin he was broken and appeared as an individual who commanded General Dorjan at the Battle of Sweet Savonna where he was finally killed.

I have no idea if he had a wife or children. He was popular with his base in Enpyben but was a source of frustration or division in most other places. Being connected to Morushun is almost as controversial as being connected to Calcestus.

Thanks for the synopsis, brings back fond memories of the old campaign. :-) My thoughts regarding this ( and I have to square the math ) is my old character Guthrum val'Holryn after the war settled down and married a young priestess of Beltine he met in Enpebyn, one Rikitsa val'Ishi. What if she was say Morushun's youngest daughter? Marrying a Milandisian and moving to Tralia would be one way of leaving bad memories and possible political problems from her father's actions behind. I got to thinking about this because I'm making my current character Haakon val'Ishi (Rikitsa and Guthrum's third child as I recall) a member of the Mother Church of Coryan rather than the Milandisian Orthodox Church. Given he would have trained at Enpebyn and is a bit puritanical this makes some sense. I'm also leaning toward being a member of the Orthodoxy as a way toward the Keepers of Forgotten Lore Path.

To be clear I see this a character background, not something I expect to give an in game benefit. Given Morushun's actions I imagine Haakon would not advertise the fact that he is his grandson. Might lead to problems in certain circles... :-) Still it does his explain his in game attitude thus far. :-) You don't want to know how hard it was not to derail the mod Espionage (I think). A Beltinian in Canceri having to deal with undead abominations...the GM gave me kudos for how well I managed to sit there quietly steaming holding my quarterstaff in a death grip. :-)

I actually recall him living a bit longer than the Battle of Savonna. If memory serves, he appeared at a battle near a bigger city at the end of the war. . .

Yeah that might be right. It was Dorjan who was dealt with by a special mission at Savona. What the heck was the title they gave Crispy Fried Morushun? Was he called the Voice of the Emperor?

Voice of the Emperor sounds right to my memory. He may have been dealt with during the final BI at Grand Coryan.

The grand and noble Voice of the Emperor ... err, Morushen val'Ishi was indeed slain during the final battle in Grand Coryan. He was one of the opponents faced down during some of the special missions.

As to his family, etc. Sean may know that, but Henry would be the best arbiter for that information.

Thanks James. Well we'll see if/when Henry chimes in. To be clear I'm not looking for any in game benefit with this, it's just character backstory. Given the controversial nature of the NPC, I doubt Haakon would even admit to any relation to the guy in game. Too much baggage there. :-) But I still think it's cool.
