That was my understanding as well, but I have direct personal experience that primal casting can get you called out for Harvesting :) , so don't bet on it!

Well as the judge of that incident at Arcaniscon, I can tell you it was a special case. OOC "someone" you were investigating thought it'd be funny - hahaha - to tell Ymandragore that Kavaris was the so called Harliquin, a master of illusion and ripe for harvesting.

Imagine the poor Ordainers disappointment when Kavaris turned out to be a primal caster. Still he also used psionics so at that point you were still on the hook. Good times. Good times.

16) Can dwarves interbreed? Have there been any known examples of (for example) a Solani and Tir Betoqi producing an offspring? If so, who's heartstone would they have to bask in?

Of course, they can. Dwarves are all the same species. Whether a dwarf is Solani, Encali, etc is a matter of culture and nationality, not species.

That is what I figured, but it still leaves the question of the the Founder's heartstone open. Can the dwarf bathe in the light of any of them for the same effect, or is it tied (as implied in text) to their enclave? If it is the latter, would a dwarf born from two different enclaves have their 'home' chosen by where they were born, or is it determined randomly like when two different Vals from two different families interbreed?

I can certainly answer that question, but like many of the others on here, I think it's better to discover them through play than just written down.

17) In the game all Kio Heroes gain an Heirloom Kio Sword (Exceptional Quality masterpiece!). We know from fluff that Kio Swords are basically each masterpieces forged by a select few Kio Blacksmiths who remember the ancient ways of making their blades. Additionally, Kio Sword is listed as a national weapon for Kio from the Western Lands (for the sake of Weapon Training (National)), which means that it is possible to get your Hierloom Kio Sword AND a Normal-Quality Kio Sword at character creation, giving you a pair of these (though, not equally made) blades.

My question is: Does every Kio soldier use a Kio Sword? The rules are a bit hazy on this, as they suggest that there are only a few hundred to a thousand of these fine blades kicking around, but if every Kio soldier/duelist has one (though maybe not an Exceptional blade) there must be tens-of-thousands of these things lying around to equip the Kio Knights. This then suggests that they are not as rare as previously believed.

Related to 17. . .

18) We know that Kio warrior have a knightly tradition similar to (but by no means the same) as Milandir, and they have very specific names for their soldiers and officers (ie: Vyhre'ki). Are these organizations exclusive to Kio, or do they allow other humanoid races into their organizations (assuming they are subjects of the Kio)? For example, could you find a Dark-kin or Unden Khyh'it Wing Commanders?

I recall it being stated somewhere that even if a non-Kio were to get their hands on a Kio sword, they would be unable to find anyone willing to teach them how to use it. Seems to me that the Kio are somewhat xenophobic, seems unlikely that they would take many/any outsiders into their ranks.

This is my thought, too. That said, we know that the Kio rule over people not their own (specifically the human Harns and the Undir), so it is theoretically possible that those people would be allowed to join the 'Kio army'.

I realize that this might come across as a rules question, but I am trying to get a better grasp of the 'physics' of magic in this system and my post in Cody's thread got me thinking: What is the cause of the range limitations to spells that target Avoidance?

Lets use the example of elemental bolt. If I send a bolt of earth at an enemy standing 30' away, he gets hit by a chunk of dirt. If he is standing 35' away, however, I am unable to hit him without an adaptation. Why? Is it due to a balistic trajectory which ends around 30' (meaning the projectile impacts the ground before getting to the target), or does the spell effect simply end at 30', causing the piece of dirt to mysteriously vanish?

Considering the fact that it has been established many times that casters need to have access to a 'real' piece of that element (need to have fire to use fire, etc), I would think that the caster is in some sense physically propelling that element towards the target, and that the tragectory is limited.

If this is the case however, what would happen if an elemental bolt were to be cast off a 100' cliff? Would the projectile continue on that trajectory all the way down, hitting whatever is standing 50-60' away from the foot of the cliff?

I'm not suggesting that PCs should be able to do this, but it does factor into the discussion of magic as applied to warfare tactics.
