Actually letting the progress of the story dictate when it ends is fine with me. Henry had said that the story arcs were going to be two years as opposed to the last one which lasted six, which is why I thought things would wrap up next year.
Actually there are 2 separate items here. The first his how long the current "Coming of the Destroyer" story arc will last. The second is where the next story arc will take place.
I'm perfectly happy to have the next story arc whenever it comes still be based in the Blessed Lands and the First City. There are so many story possibilities to mine here, it'd be easy to stay here for a long time.
