Without Talent:

Quote:
Characters may attack with two weapons, but without specialized training characters suffer penalties to the attempt. To attack with two weapons, make a Basic Attack with the primary weapon and advance your Clock 2 Ticks; upon your next action you then make a Basic Attack with the second weapon, after which you advance your Clock by the highest Speed Cost of either of your weapons +2. Your primary weapon attack suffers a -3 penalty and your secondary weapon suffers a -4 penalty. This is a Combat Maneuver with Recovery: 2; the Recovery is applied after the second weapon attack.

With Talent:

Quote:
After you attack with your main weapon, you may perform a basic attack with your off-hand weapon 1 Tick later.

You suffer a -2 to hit with both attacks (with a further -1 if one of the weapons is not light). Once both attacks are resolved, increase your Clock by the slower weapon’s Speed +2.

For example, Caius is battling two zombies and the player wishes to attack one of the zombies with both weapons. He leads the attack with his Gladius, then (if he is still alive) upon the next Tick of the Clock attacks with his Pugio. At this point he advances his Clock by 7 (the Gladius being
slower with Speed: 5 +2).

What I am trying to figure out is if you have the Talent do you still have the Recovery 2? It doesn't mention it in the example.

Talent proves basic, so no recovery.

Awesome, because my group was wondering what the value of two-weapon was then. But that is great to here.

In addition, if you have the TWF talent, you can use a maneuver as your first attack. The second attack must be a basic attack, though. But if you do that, then the recovery from the maneuver will apply. (Just FYI.)

No, if you have the talent, then you gain no recovery Scott. Or are you trying to say you can use the talent to create an advance maneuver?

If you combine TWF with say Mighty Swing, you get the Mighty Swing on the first weapon (main hand) but still a basic attack on the off hand then you have the Advanced Maneuver's recovery.

What John said.

Also, because the TWF (ta) does not have recovery, it can be used immediately after another manoeuvre without issues.
