I do not see a problem with this. Advanced Armor Training is very powerful and I don't care if martial squires have to eat a talent in this situation.

The only Backgrounds/Paths where this pops up and is not compensated/addressed are:
Former Gladiator (w/ the proposed errata)
Former Shining Patrol Soldier
Veteran of the Altherian War (which gets 4 other Talents, anyway)
Harvester (not currently an issue in-campaign, but should be noted)
Mercenary
Soldier of Retribution
Squire
Templar (if Diety's chosen is also on National list)

I don't have an issue with these overlapping either. Armor Proficiency shouldn't come up in this.

Correct, armor training is not an issue at all

Keeper of Traditions states that you must be Human, Kio, or Undir depending on region. However, there is the special text that says val who choose that background start play with an adorned flintlock pistol.

Unless I'm missing something, that end text is superfluous (and possibly confusing) as val can't take the Keeper of Traditions background.
