If I were to combine Concussive Wave and The Final Note, what would be the statistics? More specifically, what would the range be? Thanks.

I think the answer is 5' one target IF they combine at all but that seems wonky to me, any one else?

They don't share the same area (nor can they be adapted to have the same area type) so cannot be combined.

Couldn't they be adapted using Alter Area before combining?

As long as both spells have the same 'area category' before being put into an Advanced Spell, yes. You can use the base spell adaptations or talent adaptations to do so. That will obviously raise the CTN/Speed/Strain costs, however.

I wouldn't be able to apply alter area to "The Final Note" either.

You can only use a spell's listed adaptations to make them "line up" for the purposes of making an advanced spell. You cannot use Adaptation Talents to do the same. Pedro had ruled that....somewhere. But, we probably lost it in the website shift.

It was ruled that way when we were discussing changing up Advanced Spell rules, but as those rewritten rules have been tossed for now and we're doing the 'as written', I am going to assume that means you are able to use Adaptation Talents now again too. After all, there is nothing in the rules to say you cannot as written

I don't see any reasons this wouldn't be allowed either. It's still adapting the spell prior to combining it.

What Duration are spells listed as "Special" considered? Is it dependent upon how it's worded?

For instance, Ghostly Adversary is "Special" and is 'until the target is struck in combat'. Can this be combined with an Instant effect and the Ghostly part lingers until struck?

Inertial Shield is Scene but ends early if a condition is met. Can this be combined with another Scene effect? If so, do both effects end if Inertial Shield ends?
