The Failed Save for Items usually came only when you rolled a 1 for your own personal Save.

Just to be clear, I'm not proposing that any rules get made or changed. It's just always bugged me how something so... obviously dangerous was glossed over. The concept of fragile alchemical items as weapons should not have been created in the first place. But, IMO, they added an element of science and technology to the fantasy world and the problems were overlooked so that merchandise could be made and sold.

Anyway, I think that if you wear them like weapons, then quick draw should work. (I would also think that your opponents might see them dangling from your belt and try to break them if the rules for doing so allow it.) I just personally don't like the concept of having them in the first place. They don't make sense to my INTJ personality.

If I was your chronicler and you had the Jack of Knives Path I would Let your Thrown Alchemical Weapons be Rapid Draw. But then I am a Lay down when it comes to chroniclers.

I think the text of the item really does explain itself, if there is a alchemical item that's a weapon that doesn't have that text then its a different thing entirely


Josh has hit the nail on the head..

unless the item states that is is a weapon.. such as the sphere.. it's not treated like one for talents such as quick draw.
